Question:
How do I ask for more time to consider a job offer, if I am waiting to hear back from others?
Answer:

This was a great question and I blogged about it:
The post fleshes out the highlights below:
1. Don't apply for jobs you don't really want.
2. You can use the first offer to see whether you can push the other employers just a little bit.
3. When you get an offer, you must be enthusiastic if you want to the job. You can't waffle too much or say too much; just say you need a few days to consider the offer.
4. At some point, you will have to let an option go, maybe before you have another offer in hand.
5. You can try asking for more time, but if the employer hesitates or says no, be careful.
