Question:
How can I transition from my paid jobs to my volunteer jobs where my heart is and stay afloat?
I currently volunteer as an advocate for 3 different health organizations but work 2 jobs to support myself and daughter. I would love to find a way to transition from the daily grind of my paid jobs (health-related field) to where my heart is in advocacy work without sacrificing my ability to attain basics (shelter, food, etc.).

Have you talked to the 3 organizations yet about whether you can create a position for yourself or 2 part time positions? Can you consult at higher rates to health-related concerns? Since your interests and professional expertise are all in a related field, it seems you should be able to offer your "paid" skills to places you're currently volunteering for money. You are inside three organizations so you should be able to assess their needs and propose a plan using your skills. If you can offer to fundraise for your own position or come up with a scenario that makes your position self-sustaining or generates revenue for the organization, this is the way to think. Sometimes non-profits don't have the time or staff to raise money or set up benefits, for example. You could offer to do this and start with X% of what you raise. You've got to offer to share the risk and make it a win-win situation for everyone based on mutual self-interest.
