Question:
Do I take a dream political job even if it is for a candidate that I don't particularly like or believe in?

I mean, that is sort of a personal decision right? For me it would be a definite yes. As long as the candidate is a Democrat there is a very good chance that I would work for them.
This is because I know that I am never going to agree with a candidate 100% of the time. If that were the case I would never get work - because no one would live up to my standards. And if everybody acted like that, then no one would ever work on campaigns.
I think of electoral politics in pretty simple terms I guess. I tend not to focus on individual candidates and their specific politics but rather building the democratic majority across the country.
So like I said, if the candidate is a Dem I will work for them. Example:
I am a Seattle lib. I drink local coffee, throw Frisbees and rarely jaywalk - people don't jaywalk on the west coast btw.
That said I worked for a pro-life, pro-gun Democrat in Louisiana last year. But he was great. If he had won he would have made a great Congressman. But unfortunately we are now stuck with a right wing nut who won by 300 some odd votes.
So maybe it helps you to think in that sense. Is your guy better than the alternative? If the answer is yes then I'd say take the dream job and pound that GOP whacko into the dirt.
