Job Description
A Respite Worker is responsible for working with clients either in their homes or taking them out on recreational and educational activities in the community.
Activities are designed, with Respite Worker input, to promote and enhance the client's growth and development, to facilitate a positive mentoring relationship, and to provide relief to the caregivers. Activities may include taking clients to the movies, parks, museums, skating, and bowling. In-home activities may include teaching independent living skills, games, educational activities, or modeling positive interpersonal skills.
Skills & Qualifications
· Interest in positively impacting families through providing supportive services
· Flexible and proactive in planning and implementing educational and recreational activities
· Able to commit for at least 1 year to the position
· Able to work a flexible schedule; mostly evenings and weekends
· Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or GED necessary
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Must have a car, Illinois Driver's License, and Illinois Auto Insurance
