Overview
Imerman Angels is seeking a one-of-a-kind Executive Director who is dynamic, passionate, energetic, progressive, enthusiastic, visionary and in all other ways extraordinary! Founded in 2003, Imerman Angels is a youthful, fast-paced organization that is mission focused and experiencing rapid growth. The new Executive Director will help Imerman Angels achieve its mission and vision.
Primary Functions
• Carry out responsibilities as outlined by the Imerman Angels Board of Directors, its Founder and President, the Mission and Vision Statements, goals, strategy, philosophy and culture
• Implement strategic plan
• Support and advise the board of directors
• Oversee day to day operations

Major Duties
Board of Directors support:
• Provides leadership and a strategic direction to the board, effectively developing the board and leveraging it as a resource; monitors the external environment, keeps board members abreast of important factors influencing the organization, and modulates the strategic direction as needed
Program and Service Delivery:
• Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs and services
• Guides organizational daily operations
Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management:
• Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization's resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
• Oversees all accounting functions including those necessary for auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, capital asset and payroll in accordance with generally accepted accounting principals
Human Resource Management:
• Effectively manages the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations including but not limited to hiring and termination, developing position descriptions, staff and volunteer support and supervision
• Responsible for overall leadership of staff and volunteers in the development and implementation of short and long range plans and policies and other activities
Community and Public Relations:
• Assures the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders including the general public, corporations, partner organizations, the medical community and the media
Fundraising:
• Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation
Vision:
• Looks to the future for change opportunities
• Advocates and promotes stakeholder change as related to the mission
Required Skills and Experience
• Cancer survivor
• 5-10 years of experience in the non-profit/for-profit management sector at the director or executive director level
• In-depth knowledge of management processes, especially as applied to growth and long-term planning
• Experience spearheading complex short and long term marketing and promotional programs
• Financial/accounting skills to manage an organizational budget of up to $10 million annually
• High-level fundraising experience in the non-profit or charitable sector
• Effective leadership and organizational skills
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Ability to plan organization-wide activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, developing policies and procedures, and organizing the functions necessary to accomplish the activities)
• Skills in staffing effectively; selecting, training and developing employees and volunteers; directing employees and volunteers toward desired objectives; delegating, motivating, resolving problems; and controlling the functions (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees and volunteers as appropriate)
Imerman Angels Mission Statement
The Imerman Angels mission is to provide personalized connections that enable one-on-one support among cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers.
Imerman Angels Vision Statement
• Imerman Angels will work around the clock to carefully match and individually pair a person fighting cancer (a Fighter) with someone who has fought and survived the same type of cancer (a Survivor).
• Cancer Caregivers (spouses, parents, children and other family and friends of Fighters) will also receive one-on-one match ups with other Caregivers and Survivors.
• One-on-one relationships inspire hope and offer the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from someone who is uniquely familiar with the experience.
• This service will always be free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
• Imerman Angels will continue to develop the Imerman Active healthy lifestyle brand to support the mission and raise awareness across the country.
