Job Description
To provide children's advocacy and short-term crisis intervention counseling services (individual and group) to children and families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Primary responsibilities are to assist with the planning and implementation of a residential and non-residential Children's Program which provides an environment of trust, growth, and non-violence for the children and parents in the program. Community outreach and educational presentations are also a key component of the position.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in social work or human services field or equivalent work and experience. Masters degree preferred. Experience working with persons (children and adults) victimized by domestic/sexual violence; caring, empathetic client-centered approach. Match with agency mission, philosophy, and strategic priorities a must. Ability to work successfully with diverse populations and within a variety of settings (residential, non-residential, schools, community, etc.). Bilingual a plus; valid MI driver's license/reliable transportation/current auto insurance needed. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends.
